- Check the shave plate and skid shoes for wear and replace when necessary
At least once a season or after every twenty-five (25) hours of operation
- Lubricate the gear (hex) shaft with a light coating of engine oil (or 3-in-1 oil); keep oil off the aluminum drive plate and the rubber friction wheel
At least once a season
- Remove both wheels, clean and coat the axles with a multipurpose automotive grease
- Remove the shear pins from the auger shaft; spray lubricant inside the shaft and around the spacers and the flange bearings
Once a season
- Lubricate the chute directional control eye-bolt bushing and the spiral with 3-in-1 oil
Before each use and after every five hours of operation
- Check the engine oil level
