| Check the shave plate and skid shoes for wear; replace when necessary | Periodically |

| Lubricate the gear (hex) shaft with a light coating of engine oil or 3-in-1 oil (keep oil off the aluminum drive plate and rubber friction wheel) | At least once a season or every 25 hours of operation |
| Remove both wheels, clean and coat the axles with multipurpose automotive grease | At least once a season |
| Remove the shear pins from the auger shaft and spray lubricant inside the shaft and around the spacers and flange bearings | At least once a season |
